Over 5 thousand years ago Mesopotamian people created their own form or writing. They used Pictograms and based it on their first form of writing. Pictograms are pictures used to represent a word or phrase. As time passed people began to start writing scripts the Mesopotamian people called cuneiform(a writing system they created), and the need for writing changed. Over a long period of time people in Mesopotamia who learned to write and read through cuneiform recorded a lot of things that went on onto clay tablets such as daily events, trade, astronomy, and literature. Also in ancient North East people used Cuneiform to write different languages.
