Mesopotamia in Greek means between the rivers, and the 2 rivers are the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. In the fertile crescent there's a strip of land between the 2 rivers where it was rich land and farming was good for, the people called this area Mesopotamia. Mesopotamia was in the northeast by the Zagros Mountains and the Southeast region in Arabian Plateau, that runs into today's Iraq. Gilamesh was the main character of a poem that was created in the Sumerian times and in that story he was part God and part man. Irrigation is most important to places where there is less water and low waterfall. Irrigation is the water supply to help grow crops and also to fill the amount of water a area needs to help the soil be healthy for the growing crops. Mesopotamia was in 3 regions. Those three were; eastern Mediterranean, near the Zagros Mountains, and in the southeast by the Arabian Plateau which is considered a subcontinent of Asia.
